The Taunton Independent Market takes place on the second Sunday of every month on Castle Green in the centre of Taunton.

Parking charges in Taunton apply Monday to Saturday: 8am - 6pm (Includes public and bank holidays). See Somerset Council website for current charges.
However our Sunday markets take place when our town-center Council-owned car parks are free.

Taunton Train Station (TAU) is located at Taunton TA1 1QW a short 14 minute walk to the market at Castle Green.

Yes, there are 2 spaces in Castle Street car park, Taunton, Somerset, TA1 4AS. This is the closest car park (3 minute walk) but there are others in Taunton with spaces also.

The market is one Level throughout with a small ramp to go onto the level green area.

Yes, there are at Castle Green Toilets, Open 7am to 7pm, Disabled facilities are open 24 hours also with Baby changing. (1 minute walk)

Is there a map of the market?

No sorry, due to the layout shifting slightly depending on the nature of what is exhibited this can change, but rest assured the stalls are all spaced to allow free movement and full accessibility.

Is there a quiet place where you can rest during the market?

There is not a designated quiet space, but you can exit to the edges of the green away from live entertainment for a quiet break.
